Help with un rooting or flashing stock rom.

I just bought a evo lte off someone who had it rooted and unlocked but want to go back to the stock rom and get the ota update. I am not the best and most knowledgeable about this stuff and was wondering what is the easiest way to start getting the ota updates again. I have done allot of looking around but get confused on how to do it. Relock boot loader do this ruu and flash this ... LOL something simple would be easy. Thanks

Does your phone have the full s-off (lazy panda) or HTC unlock

If you have full s-off using the lazy panda s-off with a 1.12 hboot you should be able to use this method to return the phone to factory condition http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744700 while in bootloader if you look at the top of the screen it will say lazy panda if that was the unlock method used. If that's used just use the link posted above
Edit 2 reboot into hboot power your device down then hold vol up and power that should send you into hboot. Look at the version number if it's 1.12 you should be fine using the above method. If your HTC dev unlocked ill look for instructions but I'm pretty sure all you have to do is flash a stock rom then update using ota and you will loose root

Thanks for the info. Where is the best place or if you can add a link to the newest stock ROM so I can get the update I would appreciate it.

This link has the full stock rom don't know if it is pre rooted but you should be able to flash this through the bootloader 2.13.651.1 Firmware Bits - xda-developers
You can try the full rom with kernel and the updated recovery and hboot

Tried it and cant get it to work. When i start to flash the zip file it starts and fails??? What you think went wrong? Cleared cache and other stuff video said.

now i can't even drag and drop to phone storage says device has stopped working or has been unplugged. This is only from the zip file from xda. I can drag pics and put them in but no zip. Dont know what else to do will wait for help.
