Help!

"Hi everyone. I recently updated to android 4.2.2 on my HTC one and it's been alright except for one small issue. My phone book is synced with facebook, Twitter, whatsapp, phone contacts etc. I noticed that after the update, only the contacts on my phone (I have just 2 contracts on phone contacts) show up on whatsapp. My facebook contacts aren't getting synced, which didn't happen with 4.2.1. So now every time I need to text someone using whatsapp, I need to manually add their number to my contacts (even if the facebook contact is already there) for it to show up on whatsapp. And also, when I go to a contact and attempt to send them a text using whatsapp I get the following message: *
"You seem to be trying to send a WhatsApp message to a phone number that is not registered with WhatsApp.
Your account mudt have WhatsApp installed in order to chat to WhatsApp.
If this was done automatically, it is likely that WhatsApp is the default messaging app.
Press "SMS" to send a normal SMS to this contact, press "invite" to send an invitation, or press "Reset" to restore default messaging app setting." This is crazy because these contacts that I tried to text, all have whatsapp coz I've texted them before! Pfft this is really bumming me out. Please help!
