Here's another pixel problem.

I very much agree with the inconsistencies, Blue tooth issues not totally resolved for everyone, LTE connectivity issues, same deal. Not totally resolved for everyone. For something that has been out for almost 2 months they need to get some of these issues completely resolved for everyone. Not some things work for others while the same things don't work for everyone. Poor quality control, if this is the case is definitely to blame.

If apps are to blame for any of these issues, they should be taken a look at more carefully and the developers should be made aware that their apps need to work across the entire platform, otherwise the apps should not be offered. Again, another quality issue

Yeah, stills ok in good light. Video not so much, still can't seem to focus or the focus goes off partway through a 8 second video. I know many people think the camera is great but what I keep seeing across forums is that the pixel xl is very inconsistent. Some of them are fine. Some just aren't, not just with the camera. Bad quality control in my opinion.
I'm glad you notice the poor video quality as well. Now I know it's not just me. I am the first to really bring up the poor video quality in the forum's, even the reviews on YouTube dont make any mention of it. If they do it is all outdoor video which looks fine on the pixel.

My pics and video work very well. I did notice that my volume rocker buttons weren't changing the volume. I did a quick restart and they're working fine now.

I have had no issues with my Pixel XL. I have taken great pictures and videos with the phone. I have seen a lot of complaints and I believe a lot of the are from people that haven't even touched the phone. I believe some are just trolling the Pixel forums. Let's be real if I was the one have so many issues with my phone as some of the people here complaining. I would of just got rid of the phone and got something else. There are a lot more people not having issues then having issues.

Actually it's the only issue I am complaining about and trying to see if it's an issue across the board or if it's my unit. I am not trolling, I have better things to do with my time. I paid $650 for the phone I damn sure have touched it and used it.

This is why I said some people. You have people that come on and have complaints that doesn't have the unit and never had it they know who they are. I hope you get your issue with the phone resolved. Me personally l am coming from the Note 7 and will probably get the Note 8. I actually love this phone. I miss my Note and when this phone was first announced I had nothing good to say about it. When I had to give up my Note and had to choose a phone had some hands on with Pixel XL and the LG V-20. I liked this phone better picture and Video wise and the unlimited Storage for pictures and videos did not hurt. The more I use the phone the more I like it.

@rumblee1

Wow, this camera was rated the best? That's a laugh. After trying to take stills and video shots during the holidays, my pixel simply could not auto focus. Good thing I kept my galaxy s7 edge. It saved my holidays. No issues with that camera. On both, settings were set to auto. What the heck is wrong with the pixel. Its high time that all reviewers, re-reviewed this device. I can't wait for the S8.

I started a thread on here regarding the horrible video quality of the pixel. Funny you said it was around holiday time because I was taking video of my son opening his gifts and it was a messy blur, could not autofocus and the amount of noise was ridiculous. There is something wrong with the video quality on this device. The camera is excellent. I'm also coming from an S7 edge and I had to run upstairs to get the S7 so I could take more videos. Very disappointing as the pixel is an amazing overall device

Super odd since in a room full of iPhones 7 and 7 Plus, photos and videos taken with my wife's Pixel were commented on the most.

"That's a really good picture!"

"That video was shot on a phone??"

"Send me that photo, I want to use that one instead."

Camera is the best I've used on a cell phone. Video is my issue I'm having. If it is indoors there are noise issues.

Here are pictures taken with my Pixel XL. It takes excellent pictures.

Video quality will always be subject to the lighting conditions no matter what phone. Now which phone handles lighting better than others is a different thing.

ironkhalid posted this in the photos thread and I was impressed with the quality:

Video of me driving through a twisty road during dusk, camera is awesome! Sorry for the wind, lol

I've also been testing the video camera on my way to work and walking around different areas and the camera has adjusted fine even in low lighting conditions. It felt like one of those first person video games. The smooth video is incredibly impressive. Camera isn't really my priority in phones but it's nice to know I have a good one!

Well I know for a fact my S7 edge handles low light video recording 10x better than the pixel. I will try and out on a side by side video. The videos taken outdoors are always good, it's the ones taken indoors in certain lighting conditions. Even the EIS feature causes jerky stuttery motion when panning. Just things I have noticed in certain conditions that are disatisfying

The problem is the video camera, not the picture camera, and indoors, not outdoors. How many times does that have to be said? Really tired of every video being one taken outside when trying to prove the video camera on the pixel is fine.

Thought I clarified this enough, but thanks for the reclarification!

Well I've been doing some testing and it really seems it depends on the lighting conditions but even then it shouldn't be so fuzzy indoors. The odd thing I was filming inside my workplace and walking around and the quality looked excellent. I walked inside my house and around and there was a lot of noise in the video even with all the lights on. Strange. I suppose it's a good thing I'm not much of a video taking person but I can understand the sentiment you want the best when paying so much for a phone.

I think video just suffers under low lighting. I don't know where you work at, but typically a workplace will have much better (or brighter perhaps) lighting than at your home.

I've seen others having issues with the camera as well. And most of them are RMAing the phone. Almost seems like QC is down a little.
Thankfully, I've have not experienced any issues with my Pixel, so far.

Personally I'm not sure what issuing another phone would do in this situation. If it does great outdoors but not so much indoors I'm not certain that would be hardware related. If it performed poorly both indoors and out that might be another story.
