Just thought I'd say Hey...formerly a BB owner..had my Droid X since late August and I love it I'm still learning how to use it and now my biggest dilemma is whether or not I want to Root it.

Welcome to AC and the Android army recruit...I really can't help you with the rooting thats a decision you must make. If you want to remove bloatware, use custom ROMs or certain apps go for it if not there's no need.

Rooting is very easy if you plan on it. Google Z4 Root and download it, then install it then hit root. To un-root, just hit un-root.

Wifi tether is a good reason to root. And Titanium Backup is another good reason.

welcome! i too have the DX and haven't really asked what the differences are between rooted and unrooted...maybe i'll do that now. if you get bored head over to the android central lounge/games forums.
