This box looks like a Google search bar however it says "search for apps" ? holding the icon does not seem to give any options to remove or delete it and if I go to settings - apps it doesnt seem to show any help appreciated ..

This newly discovered search app/slot could be associated with an app as used or supported by your provider, often this may mean it can't be removed. However, depending on your searches, this search app could be an add-on which was installed via another app you've acquired. In other words, one should avoid hidden apps or clause within apps that may require one to install a hidden apps which you may or may not be aware of. Thus one would need to uninstall the previous app or clean slate the system in order to get rid of the anonymous app.

Hi,
I have the same issue on Galaxy S6. Ive just updated and regretting this rubbish. Top of my hit list to fix is the "search for apps" bar taking up valuable room on my screen. Completely useless. Why would I want to spend time typing anything when I can just hit an icon?? Madness. If anyone knows a trick to disabling this, thatd be grand.

many thanks.
