Is there a way to hide apps. For example I don't use blockbuster at all so is there a way to remove it from the list

I asked a similar question and someone suggested the Launcher Pro app. I got it and it's really nice. What you do is to install it and then put the apps you want on your home screen or your choice of other screens. You don't see the apps you don't use/want to see regularly unless you use the "up arrow" to make the bottom "hidden" screen visible where all the apps are. You cannot remove apps from this "main" screen unless your root your device (which is something this newbie is not nearly ready to try). I like this app a lot!

Launcher pro has a setting to hide apps. This makes apps in the app drawer disappear. You have to run the Launcher pro as your home launcher. If you go back to Sense, then they will be back in your app drawer.

I believe Launcher Pro hides the app, but it still runs in the back round. In order for the app to not run in the back round and take up system resources you would have to root and install "Titamium Backup". In TB you can "freeze apps" which effectively stops them from running in the back round and hogging up system resources. You can always "Thaw" apps should you decide to.

Correct... it will only hide the app. You need root access to delete/freeze unwanted running apps.

This seems odd. I have Launcher Pro installed and have set up some things. I went looking for the option to hide apps and my Launcher Pro icon is gone. I can see the reference to the program in Settings --> Applications but that doesn't give me the option to hide or do much of anything else. Is it normal for it's icon to disappear and if so, how do I get it back?

Instead of looking at the full list of all apps installed on the phone every time you want to launch one, you could create a folder on one of your desktop pages, then add just the apps you use to that folder.

I created a Games folder and a Multimedia folder on one of the desktop pages earlier, in anticipation of downloading apps of this kind.

That stinks. Is there a way to suggest hiding apps to HTC? Possibly a future update

unfortunately verizon and/or HTC are getting paid to shove these apps down our throats so I doubt they will let us get rid of them without rooting. I cant wait to root and rid this crap from my phone, maybe get some of that missing 5 GB of internal storage back

Yes its normal, launcher pro will not show up in the app drawer. To access its settings... from the home screen... Menu.. Preferences.. everything is for launcher pro.

If you want to switch back and forth between launchers.. download Home Switcher.
Also keep in mind, when using a different launcher like LP. Delete any Widgets running on the stock Sense launcher screens, otherwise you will have unnecessary Widgets running in the background killing the battery.

Another great option for Launcher Pro.. is an app called LPI (launcher pro icons). It lets you customize the look of the icons and docks. For more custom icons and docks... Google "launcher pro icons or docks". Or "Birdman launcher pro icons/docks".

Thanks, Cyber Warrior. Can I ask how I go about killing the apps you're talking about? Is that the Force Stop thing the apps have?

No need to force stop them. Android is Linux based and will shutdown apps running as needed. You just need to remove the Widgets off the screen. On each screen that has a widget... long press on it.. and drag it to the trashcan that pops up.
