High Pitch Whine: HDMI Mirror Mode

I received my Motorola HDMI cable today and excitedly plugged it into my TV and quickly found myself playing music first through the tv speakers then through the surround sound speakers, both resulted in the loud high pitch whining sound we have heard through the head phone jacks. I haven't seen this posted anywhere else, but am assuming that this isn't just my unit. So what would cause this issue in both the head phone jacks and hdmi out? And is it possible an OTA update could fix it?

How's about choppiness/lag in mirror mode? I'm watching a movie off SD-ext and it's watchable, but just barely. You think it has something to do with filesize (~700mb) or maybe because it's stored on the external SD?

I was able to view Netflix just fine.
