High Wi-Fi battery usage

Even though I hardly used WiFi the graph is shown completely solid only gap shown is when the phone was off, auto scanning under advanced WIFI settings is off

If you leave wifi on it will constantly search for a network thus affecting your battery life. If you don't need wifi, turn it off

I pretty much always leave Wifi on and I have it for location positioning. Occasionally I see this really high battery usage from Wifi, only fix I have found is restarting the phone.

That seems to slow it down.
