Hi, I have a Sprint LG Optimus S running android(LOL obviously about android XD)

I have a problem similar to this post:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...-home-button-lock-screen-stopped-working.html

Here's what happened:

1) I rooted my phone and installed xionia custom recovery
2) took it into the sprint store because the screen was black(but still working, just not showing anything)
3) was working fine. lock screen and everything. (except they had reset my phone, so i needed to restore my phone's backups)
4) reloaded a backup from before i wiped my phone's data/system/boot
5) Home button, search button and lock screen stopped working.

You know how when u press a button on a phone the keypad backlight comes on so you can see the numbers?
Well my home and search buttons aren't working, but when pressed they DO make the backlight for the home; menu; back and search keys light up.

Simply put, the hardware for the buttons is working just fine. However, the android system doesn't do anything when they are pressed.
Also, the lock screen only shuts off the screen. it does not actually lock anything.
(i press power to lock the screen, wait ANY amount of time... then press any button and it resumes without showing the lock screen WHATSOEVER)

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
or how to fix this

I'm thinking i need to put some system files onto my phone to fix it, because the system files that handle the buttons and lockscreen might just be missing >_<;;

anyway, thx alot if you can help ^_^

You deleted setupwizard.apk from /system/app and then cleared data. In order to fix it you need to flash a rom.

Wow, well if that's not an answer for your problem I don't know what is. Buy that man a Beer!

Nope, i did a "adb pull /system/app C:\app" on my computer to check the files.
There was indeed a setupwizard.apk on my phone.

should i try to run it on my phone?
if so how can i do that via adb?

Pretty sure Nick is right. You may still have the apk there but it somehow got bungled. The same thing happened to me when I flashed back from cm7 and did a sloppy job restoring files with titanium. I did a very clean flash of the latest reborn and everything turned up roses!
