Home button not working? May be water damage?

Hi. I put a new screen protector on my phone, and I guess some water got into my home button. It isn't working to wake up the screen or exit apps. The finger print scanner is still working. Is there anything I can do? I am really freaking out.

I contacted AT&T. They said it was a hardware issue - checked for water damage and found none so they are sending me a replacement because of the hardware issue. So this is solved!

If your phone is water resistant you may also try rinsing both buttons with water for about 30 seconds.
