Home Launcher Battery Drain Issue

I have the LG G2, and the stock HOME launcher. Does anyone have any idea why the home launcher might be taking up so much power?

If I force stop Home, or restart my phone, the power absorption goes back down to 2% ish
This only happens after the phone is fully charged to 100%
