Home screen fade-in

I've had my Captivate for a week now and am totally in love with it. I've rooted it and have had no issues. This morning, I noticed that when I press the Applications icon, the screen sort of does a 'fade-in' effect to the applications screen. When I press the Home key, it does the 'fade-in' for the home screen too. I'm pretty sure it didn't do that when I got it. I'm not sure if I changed some setting unknowingly or not. Anyone seen this before?

Good, it wasn't just me...

I figured I just "noticed' it for the first time yesterday.

Did AT&T push an OTA update?

I'm not sure. I'm still very new to this. Would they be able to tell me if I called them?

Only reason I know is cause i come from using an iPhone 4 and thought it was really cool looking when I got the phone. Picked up my captivate on launch day...after trading in my iPhone 4

Did you just turn on Sound & Display > Animation > "All Animations Shown"?
