I have tried a few builds. I have ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop, dual booted beside windows 7. I can use it ok.

Thats great,i have just about the same i just use a older version of ubuntu9.4 and win XP<-love it even tho most don't.I use both to dev.
As for a good start point to learn read this http://forum.androidcentral.com/hacking/6037-general-rom-faq.html
I sign everything in windows, just seems easier(rigth click to sign things).
Then get use to writeing update scripts(can be a pain till you get use to it).Make sure you have notepad++ for making update-scripts,editing build.prop.
Other then that do a lot of reading(go to gb's profile and read all his how to/guides he does a great job at explaining almost everything.
Also just know how to laugh at yourself when you make mistakes.A lot of trial&error is how i learned alot.Don't be afraid to rip something apart and try putting it back together. If you need help hit my pm anytime and ill gladly help you out anyway i can and if i don't know it then we'll learn it together.

No disrespect taken. I may have came on a bit strong on that myself (after reading it again, it sounded like I went all defensive).

I was going to I was reading your thread today. I plan to play with it tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know that about not moving cache I hadn't looked into it for awhile,so didn't mean any disrespect.

I have a quick froyo / ROM development question for you... Would you imagine that devs will be able to put sense UI and the HTC stuff onto a 2.2 froyo build from the AOSP? Or would that be something that most likely will have to wait until at least one phone gets an official update from HTC?

Also - is there a guide that you recommend to follow to start learning about making ROMs?

Zenulator over at xda is working on it. really broken but then again he JUST posted the ROM today. [ROM DEV] N1 Froyo FRF50 Port Updated - xda-developers i would highly recommend NOT using this on your everyday phone.

I did see this earlier. There where a couple threads that popped up right after the source dropped. I don't expect anything that fully works for at least a day or two (and that is insanely fast). I don't think the 2.2 threads there are attempting to incorporate sense UI however.

yes these guys are insanely fast. when the official and leaked roms came out beezy had roms out that evening. we know the devs around here dont sleep...

BUMP!!!
Added another version-.3 with the newer a2sd from tkirton.

Hey beezy,
Any chance that 'iced'v3 could be the wrong file uploaded? My phone is showing 'iced' as the Rom, but I have too much space left to be deodexed and I can't delete the Sprint crap. Let me know if this is an issue with the file or something I'm doing. Thanks

How are you trying to delete stuff?

Open astro, press menu, tools, application manager, then select what you want to back up or uninstall. Is that what your doing?

I just tried astro due to this issue I had and was not using it properly. I just followed your steps and it worked. Thank you so much for the help. I will be pm'ing you when I get home regarding that coffee pot fund. Thanks ;)

Finally installed honeybun v2 lite. Everything seems to be running perfectly. I had a few questions. I have been having issues with ac forums lately so I am going to throw it all up here just in case I have login issues again.

Was that Facebook fix for huneybun also or just iced?

Can I flash v3 over v2 without wiping?

Do I need to do anything different for ap2sd or will v3 automaticly format the sd for it? If so any guide would be appreciated.

Is there a quick way to clear my caches?

And on a different note, when using astro to back up apps, after a wipe do I just reinstall astro and find the apps there or does it just save the data in the apps so I will still need to download them all again first?

Sorry for the multiple questions but I always seem to have login issues with ac forums when I really need it.

Thank you so much for all your hard work and friendly advice. Loving honeybun, runs great.

*Don't need to use facebook patch anymore.

*Full wipe ,just so no issues.

*You only need to have a partition on sdcard for a2sd to work on any version(ext2 or 3)

Is there a quick way to clear my caches?
*In recovery, wipe dalvik cache,or search market for cacahe app's.

*If you back up the app with astro, you can reinstall them after downloading astro from the market.
