I keep getting told I can't change the name of the file in /system/media folder. Says write only. I am doing this in terminal though so that might be the problem.
You can mount as R/W in an app such as Root explorer.

here is what i did:
1) go to system/media/
2) rename bootanimation.zip bootanimation.bak
3)copy the *NEW* bootanimation.zip to system/media
4)copy the *NEW* bootanimation.zip to /data/local
5)REBOOT!
6)profit??
that worked prefectly for me without a hitch!
For some reason, when I downloaded the file from my Xoom, it just wouldn't work! But when I downloaded to my PC and transferred file to Xoom, it works just fine.
/facepalm
Well at least I have the bootanimation now!![]()
can anyone provide the original boot animation that came with the xoom? for some reason i cant reflash the one that i have.
Can the 3G with 3.2 be rooted? Thanks! I do love the stock but they could have done it better. Stock images are half the screen size and then stretched. Mine was created with full screen images so it keeps the image quality. More boots to come
