Honor 8 - cannot close gmail application, it has a lock icon next to it

I cannot close the gmail app, there is a lock icon in the upper right corner. When I use the trash icon to close all, it comes back immediately. What can I do? I would send a screenshot but it says its spam here. Thanks a lot

If I'm not mistaken, just hit that lock to unlock it. Then swipe it away.

Also, you have to create an account to post pictures.
