It's certainly nothing to brag about, but then IMHO no case is. (I really prefer to not use cases but this phone is just way too slippery to think about letting it go naked).

I actually have a pretty slick black metal bumper on my Blue one.

Which one? I'm seeing a few available. I like the idea, as long as signal isn't taking a loss.

I swear by Nillkin Frosted cases. Have had one on my Note 4 now for almost 2 years. It is super minimalist and has saved my phone countless times. Matte finish shows no prints and it's super grippy. Don't think i could go back:

I swear by Nillkin Frosted cases.

Same here!
Nillkin was the best cover for my Xperia Z1 and Lumia 535 (phone was crap at least the cover was great).
Whenever I get a new phone I shop for the Nillkin covers hoping they make one for what I have.
I see you linked the brown color which is also my fav color.

Nillkin is my preference for tempered glass protectors also.

I got it today. It has no protective lip over the screen, and that is disappointing. At least it protects the rest of the body unlike the minimal case. I'll probably keep it on though.

However, it feels easier to grip the phone with this case.

I would really like to find a decent bumper-style case for my Honor 8. A bumper case would be perfect for what I want -- namely, to be able to show off and appreciate the blue-colored front and back of this phone while having a case that just covers the sides. (It would have to have a "lip", of course, to keep the front/back of the phone from touching whatever surface you set the phone down onto).

I've searched around but haven't found anything worthwhile unfortunately. Hopefully someone will make one eventually! *crosses fingers*

The issue with the glass ones is the "halo" effect if you care about that look. I haven't bothered with glass, I have an HD supershieldz plastic protector that fits very well.

See, I wouldn't even call that a bumper case since it's got a back covering. To me, "bumper" means it just covers the sides of the phone and not the back. :/
