Well I don't have a honor 8 yet but I have had other usb c devices like the HTC 10, note 7,blu vivo xl, zte Zmax pro, and on those, I am using either Samsung cables or for third party, spigen or iorange. I believe both are benson approved

The cables aren't specific to the Honor 8. Just because he doesn't have the phone doesn't mean he isn't knowledgeable about the cables.

That said I use cables from Nektech, Ventev, Choetech, and others without issue on my Honor 8.

I've never had any good quality brand cable fail as far as data or charging on any device I've had.
Broken a few in the past that was my fault.

The only thing Benson checks for is compliance with usb c spec. I don't need to physically have a phone to determine whether or not this is the case.

if you wish to use a standard connector, use the standard completely. If you wish to do whatever you want, use a proprietary connector. This applies to manufacturers of phones,cables,and chargers.

Honestly,if the cable fails,who cares . it is cheap to replace . But a defective cable can destroy your computer,if connected to it.


Being a good quality brand doesn't guarantee smooth sailing . aside from Anker,spigen also had a problem with theirs and fixed it.

I bought an extra C Type USB from Walmart. Forget now the brand. It ran me 24.99. Its worked perfectly with all my C Type devices.

Here are the two cases I've ordered and both are nice. I like the layout of the red better but the blue is a bit more slim and they are both already pretty slim.

I'll post the red case next. Stand by

Here's the red case. I like it the best. Slim and it wraps the phone curves perfectly. All four corners are protected and even the top and bottom it has slight wrap over. Then best of all the red against the blue is the perfect spiderman theme which I'm a spiderman fanatic and collector.

I totally agree!! Thanks for the cool words. I have no memory at all when I wasn't captivated by spiderman lol. He goes way back to my first life memories. Still as much of a fan today at 41 as I was at 8 lol. Difference now is spiderman stays in the box unopened to collect and display in my office. Yeah I'm pretty stoked about this color combo.

Need some opinions... looking for minimalistic, clear, tight fitting to avoid dirt getting inside the case, and smudge resistant. Anything out there fit the bill?
