My Honor 8 phone has 2 icons of the system applications: dialer, contacts, and messaging. I have tried both hiding the duplicates and putting them in folders to somewhat hide them. Both of these methods work until I restart the phone. When I restart the phone, the hidden duplicates automatically become unhidden and reappear again. As long as the phone and contacts icons stay on the main screen, the two duplicates will stay in the folder I have put them in (as long as that folder stays on the main screen). The duplicate messaging icon doesn't seem to even want to stay in a folder upon phone restart. However, it doesn't insist on being on the main screen. The two messaging icons currently sit next to each other at the end of the last screen. Any ideas as to how to get rid of the duplicate icons? Thanks!

This is Android 6.0 Emui 4.1 model number FRD-L04

Ok, how about going to Settings>Apps, looking for the EMUI Launcher (or whatever it's called), and Clearing Cache/Data? This will wipe the homescreen setup, so you'll have to reconfigure it the way you normally prefer -- but it might get rid of that glitch.

I do not have EMUI Lanucher. Huawei Home is the default launcher. I downloaded EMUI launcher and there was no glitch with that launcher. I ended up just downloading the google now launcher and using that because I like it better and also has no glitch. However, I did try to clear the data and the cache for the Huawei Home launcher and it still did not work. But it is all good now because I am using a different launcher. Thanks!
