Hope this is the Note 8

Re: Hope this is it

These are as real images I have seen of any leak ever. This is the worst kept secret phone in history of phones.

People keep assuming there is an aspect ratio as if they are making HDTV's. Samsung can do whatever it wants in regard to height:weight it's up to the consumer to reject or support it.

If Samsung wants to make a phone 8:1, 8" tall at 1" wide, I am sure 100,000 people worldwide (mostly in Asia) will buy it just to show it off.

It's hilarious. Regardless we'll know very soon, but these are not rumors, they are real images.

Leaks suggest otherwise. Not long to find out.

The leaks have suggested no such thing. Samsung will NOT introduce another aspect ratio with the note. It will be 18.5:9 and be wider than the S8+.

When they design custom apps that are meant to take advantage of the aspect ratio, they're not going to make more work for themselves by adding another one unnecessarily. There's a reason why manufacturer's stick to set aspect ratio, and if you think Samsung is going to introduce another one that's not 18.5:9 for the Note, you don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about.

Agreed.

the proof is in the pudding. you keep ignoring the obvious! it's like you keep insisting that earth is flat because of some YouTube video.

No. I'm insisting because it's common sense and every. single. article. about the Note 8 mentions an 18.5:9 screen. Pictures can be misleading, especially when you're trying to measure something like width. The Note 8 will have an 18.5:9 screen. There is not a chance Samsung will do anything other than that.

  • Common sense would dictate a wider phone. since taller and narrower is total waste of screen real estate.
  • Common sense would dictate a battery that doesn't die in the evening when you still have a few more hours to go.
  • Common sense would dictate a phone that doesn't crack its screen, it's most valuable item, when not treated so gingerly.
  • Common sense would dictate a back cover that doesn't need a case, since it gets scratched up after one week of use.
  • Common sense would dictate a removable battery. Duh!
No one has ever cared about common sense in making cars or electronics. It's all vision, passion, supply and demand forces.

No online article I have looked at even remotely mentioned aspect ratio? why? cause no one knows it yet.

Will know in a month, but the width is the same to the naked eye.

Cheers, S

Every article I've seen (including those on AC) mentions an 18:5.9 screen. Also, your post seems to be driven by a willful ignorance of mass market device manufacturing. There is no way Samsung will spend the resources to support yet another aspect ratio. Also, for what it's worth I measured the new renders and they are 18.5:9, so the screen will indeed be wider.

because I work in the tech industry and I am in marketing of products and also a designer. the proof is looking you in the face and NO, no rumor mentions ratio you're just making that up because you read it somewhere once. I know your type. just BS for the sake of BS and keep ignoring the obvious! I am done with this particular discussion.

Next! :) haha

Not worth the trouble to bicker about it when it's not even released yet. Not making any decisions until i can see it on the release date to see the published specs, and get to examine it in store to compare to my Note 5 and s8+

In today's world they copy and paste. Maybe a minor rewrite, but mostly copy and paste.

Does it even matter? They claimed no sites said anything about 18.5:9. Those links prove them wrong. Not only that, Evan Blass clearly notes an 18.5:9 screen, and his track record is very very good.

Well it matters to me. I hate reading the same article on the different sites and each "writer" taking credit.

It's possible it's correct, but no one really knows yet.

Really too bad Note 8 taller and not wider. I just find the S8+ too tall as it is. Reading Erica Griffen's Tweet of her playing with her FE is commenting how she seems missing the 19:9 ratio when going back to S8.

FE besides an S8+

Awww Don, did you have to do that? Seeing the Note FE/7 next to the S8+ (or roughly what the Note 8 will look like) really blows my plans to hell - that's awful! Now I really want my Note 7 back!!!
