T-Mobile Galaxy S8 Horrendous battery life - Can someone help? (15% in 10 hours, 30 MINUTES SoT)

Can someone please help me with my battery life? My phone drained 15% in 10 hours with barely 30 minutes of actual use.

• TMobile Galaxy S8
• Nothing disabled except Lookout.
• Screen resolution on highest
• Auto brightness
• Accounts: 2 GMails, 1 Yahoo, 1 IMAP, 1 Samsung
• NFC/Bluetooth off (for these 10 hours)
• WiFi/data on
• Scanning for nearby devices off
• WiFi on sleep off (similar results with it on)

Here is my battery info, from settings and GSAM:

Lookout at least for me has caused issues with constantly trying to scan things.

Nothing disabled = apps in the background using ressources (facebook and carrier bloatware)auto brightness keeps the sensor working which uses battery wifi + data connection use battery even if not connected i've heard resolution dosen't have a huge impact but it could be it otherwise i see nothing wrong with 15% in 10+ hours

In my opinion you are getting excellent battery life. Your phone has only lost about 1.4% an hour which seems pretty damn good to me so not sure what you are expecting?

Why is %15 in 10 hours a BAD thing? Anyways quit looking at your apps and look at your signal strength, if you don't get full bars the phone will increase power to the antenna for reception. A common battery killer is being in a place with zero or 1 bar of strength.

I don't have Facebook installed.

I'm expecting less than 1% an hour because my two year old S5 can do that.

GSAM says signal was mostly good. Here is GSAM info:
Phone Radio On: 22hr10m
Scanning for Signal: 2s
Low 0: 0%
1: 0%
Medium 2: 2%
3: 9%
4: 80%
High 5: 9%
I assume this means my phone was mainly on 4 bars, correct?


Here is my battery info now. I have not charged at all today, so this is a continuation of the picture from the original post:
46% remaining (used 54% in 21hr57m)
21hr57m on battery
2hr19m SoT

My sister also has a S8. Lookout, Facebook, AoD, NFC are all enabled on her phone. Same resolution/autobrightness on both hers and mine. I have 4 emails syncing while she only has 2.

I was on mobile data (wifi off) quite a bit today while she was mostly on WiFi. She left her phone charging overnight so she started today with 100%. Here are her battery stats:
43% remaining - Used 57% in 11h30m
3hr49m SoT

Is there seriously nothing wrong with my battery life? I feel like we have such different phones because of the differences in battery life.

I "started the day" with 85% and 30 minutes SoT. Now I am at 44% with 2hr30m SoT, so I used 41% and got 2hours of SoT.
My sister's S8 "started the day" with 100% and 0m SoT. She's at 43% with 3hr49m SoT. She used 57% and got 3hr49m SoT.
My screen time per battery percent: 2.92 minutes of screen time per %
Her screen time per battery percent: 4.01 minutes of screen time per %
I feel like this is a pretty significant different, as she has Facebook and Lookout enabled...

If you have done 10 hrs without charging that's amazing. With everything that these phones have going on now you'll never get a 24hr battery life.

SoT isn't the be all, end all of battery life. There are many other factors that are involved when it comes to battery life. Throw it on a charger while it's sitting there to get more power.

Used 63% in ~14 hours with 3 hours of SoT. Isn't this pretty bad? I read somewhere that Adhell may cause battery issues so I've uninstalled that and will see how my battery fairs tomorrow.

So if we extrapolate, a full charge is lasting more than 21 hours with more than 4.5 hours of screen time. That's excellent battery life. It's more than enough to get through the day, and then you recharge overnight. What's the problem?

Something to keep in mind is this: It is difficult to compare 2 devices used by different people. Everyone uses devices just differently enough that a true comparison can't be made.

In your instance, I think you are getting pretty good life out of your battery.

37% battery life left with 3 hours SoT is average. Nothing to worry about.

ALso being on Wifi is usually uses much less battery that could be the difference between you and your sister.
