Weird, mine was only updated to 11a, and this is 13b? how did I miss 12a?
12a was pulled shortly after its release due to people only getting notifications on wifi and not lte.

No, you mean people, including me, not getting notifications on WiFi, only LTE
Just got the push notification for the system update today. After reading about some of the problems people are having Id like to opt out of upgrading. My phone runs perfect as is right now.
I can't seem to find a way to turn this notification off. Every time I go into system updates it launches the notification were the only option is to set a time for the update to run. I need a cancel option.
Any suggestions?

What's your biggest gripe with updating, or what are you afraid of is going to happen when you upgrade?
Overheating, battery drain, account sync issues, basically everything people have mentioned in this and other posts. I just don't need the hassle. Id much rather keep what I have without the risk. Why fix something that's not broken. Plus I don't have insurance on this phone.

the G4 does get a LOT warmer after the latest update. (but definitely not "overheating")
however, the update does make the phone run a lot smoother/faster... and like other have already reported, the keyboard is much, much better now!![]()
I found out it's quite easy to disable updates. Go into the application manager and look in the All tab for a couple named "System Updates." One is 400k, the other shows 0 Bytes. In my case, the zero Byte version can be disabled. Did that and problem solved. The version that does take up a bit of space didn't give me the option to disable it.
am I still the only person who has a G4 that's much hotter after the latest update?![]()
Mines the same. Really warm around buttons especially after web browsing.
