Horrible Verizon Store Experience for S6

I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for almost 20 years and have had no problems anywhere in the 4 states I've lived in. Sometimes I buy direct from the corporate store, sometimes from a Verizon Authorized reseller and sometimes online. Zero problems.

Now Best Buy!!! Nothing but one ***** after another. Bad experiences at their phone stores also. A friend bought me a BB Gift Card for my birthday a year ago and I took it back and bought a Visa card at a loss just to avoid spending as little time and money as possible in that disaster they call a store. JMPO...

Yea they're bad in store. One guy tried to convince me to purchase 20GB data plan instead of having my unlimited so that I would "save" money on buying phone. Always looking for a sale - I understand how it goes.

To the OP, you would be better served buying from Best Buy. That's where I am getting my Galaxy Note 4 Edge after I have the funds. I last bought my Galaxy S3 from the Verizon corporate store. Not a bad experience, but I understand the issue with the employees having long conversations amongst themselves. Very annoying and not conducive to making a sale.

I have had consistently poor service from our local corporate store in the 10+ years I have been with Verizon. I have only had one bad experience calling in to CS. I have gotten four of my last five phones through Best Buy, which again has been consistent for me. I understand there are good and bad at all levels of any large company. I just know that locally, people usually visit the corporate store once, are treated like cr@p, and either go to a different carrier or go to Best Buy instead. Over ten years at the same location, obviously different employees, yet consistently poor CS. I think Comcast is the only local company with a consistently worse record.

I mentioned in another Verizon post as well, but in the three Verizon stores I stopped by in the Charlotte area (Two corporate, One retailer), you would have never knew an S6 existed or was coming soon...let alone that it was available for pre-order and coming this week. All three I had to ask, and was told they wouldn't even have a display model before the 4/10 release. I already had mine pre-ordered thru Best Buy, but just wanted to see the Verizon version.

Yeah, I think verizon corporate stores really dropped the ball on this. No signage advertising the S6 coming, no S6's in store, and just bad cs. Go online and it's a whole different game... First page has the S6 pre-order advertised.

Management pushes reps to sell bundles. Back when I was a rep we'd actually get reprimanded if our accessory sales were down. Aside from hitting monthly quota accessories are the #1 things the higher ups push.

No corporate stores around here so I went to authorized retailer and I paid full retail for the S6. I thought the price sounded high when I paid but figured taxes or whatever. Later that day I look at the receipt and I see they charged me $623 for the S6 and not $599. I was upset but its my fault for not questioning it at the store.

Just like any store in existence .. some will have bad employees .. some won't. It just gets worse in these type of stores because they want to sell you stuff to pad their figures .. whereas a regular retail store isn't pushed as much.

My Verizon store jumps on you and follows your around the store. I hate the feeling when you just want to look and they won't get off your back!

You can also buy verizon, sprint or att phones at target. Sometimes the target mobile kiosks have better details than corporate stores. Full disclosure, my husband works for them, but I had bought phones there long before he got the job.
