Hotmail Junk Notifications?

Anyone else getting phony hotmail notifications? I've set up Hotmail on my wife's Epic 4G using the native email client. I am using the hotmail account that was set up using Accounts & Sync in the settings.

She is getting email notifications saying she has email. This is the only email set up on the phone (GMail is there, but she only set it up for the phone and doesn't have any messages).

When she goes to check there is nothing in the inbox. This perplexed me for a few days then I noticed the notification was showing up for each new email message in the Junk folder.

Anyone else notice this?

How do you have it set up? POP, IMAP or Exchange?

I have mine set up as an Exchange Account and I do not have this problem. Follow the instructions in this thread and set it up as an Exchange Account and see if that fixes your problem.

Wow - sorry. I'm not experiencing the same behavior. The only thing I could suggest is to delete it and try again.

For the record, this would drive me crazy too as my Junk Folder receives twice the email as my inbox.

I don't know if they made it mandatory to move everybody to the new online version of Hotmail about 6 months, but if she's still using the classic version, that might be the difference? That's all I can think of...

This is on my wife's phone (Epic 4G). So I have since tried it on my phone (also Epic 4G) to see if I can duplicate the behavior. Within a minute I had a mail notification but nothing in my inbox. I looked and didn't see any email in my folders either.

I will continue monitor.
