I would like it if when I delete an email on my phone, it will also be deleted from my actual hotmail account, how can I achieve this please? I am a new hauwei user (used iphone since forever...) thanks

Kind of unrelated, but what Huawei are you using? Do you like it and would you recommend someone else to make the same purchase?

It's a P9 and I really like it, dont miss having an iphone which I thought I would! Just want to sort this email business out... 😊

Hello, from my experience (always used Hotmail and the respective app) the problem is not on the phone but the app itself. It seems to somehow lack that synchronization with the inbox elsewhere. Even on windows phone where it is a native service.

Hi, I don't use the app, I just assigned my hotmail account to my phone and when I had it set up like this on my iphone, it worked fine, if I deleted an email on my phone, it would be deleted from my hotmail account, confused...

Did you ever get this figured out? Just bought a P9 plus yesterday and got everything, including my outlook/hotmail account setup. I setup an Exchange account. On Huwaei, you do this by going to Account->Add an account->Corporate. Enter Email Address, username, password. Email Address/username will be the same. That *should* work. There are other settings behind that, but they are set correctly (except maybe one).

*If*, Using the standard account setup doesn't work, it may be the server. By default it is m.hotmail.com. On my previous phone that worked. On the phone before that, I used eas.outlook.com. If the standard account setup fails, go to the manual setup and change the server to eas.outlook.com. Port and Security Type is already correct.

Once you do that and it works, you can setup everything you want to sync. I sync everything, contacts, calendar, email, but you may only want email. I set up the account "sync schedule" to push, so I get email as soon as it arrives. Also, when I delete emails, they get deleted on the server (which is what you are wanting).

Hope that helps.

Good to hear your sorted.. but email works like this:

Exchange / IMAP / IMAP 4.. are server based - so your logged into your email server... delete it from the phone and it deletes from server..

POP / POP3 is device based... It basically "Downloads" it to your device from server, so deleting mail.. only deletes it from the device..

Hope that helps :)
