Did he ever get back to you about whether the root+app worked on his nexus 5? And I was wondering if you could send me those screens of your settings in app I also an on T-Mo and have nexus 5 I've used 10.5gb of hotspot and now need to tether and hide it

Also make sure that when you copy the file back it is owned by system and not by root, otherwise in my experience you will get stuck at the boot screen. Thanks afazel!

Did have to do a wipe and reinstall to factory. Had to reroot and got done all my apps from installing. Apparently I forgot to change some permission on that file when I placed it back so that messed up a lot. Going to work on it at home when I focus all my attention to that. Thanks for the advice.

Could you shed some light on what you do to change the settings.db permissions? I've used the "Root Browser" app and the only permissions I can change are read/write/execute. I am stuck at this part and my phone hangs at boot as a result, so back to factory reset for me!

i have a n5 on sprint , rooted and i use wfi router from the playstore and it works great

Thanks for the suggestion! Works like a charm on Sprint N5 that is rooted!
