Hi,
I have a Nexus 6 on Verizon. I'm able to use the internet on my Surface Pro 2 tablet, connected to the 6 via the hotspot wifi. However, as soon as I make a call with the Nexus 6, the tablet is unable to connect to the internet. The error message from the tablet states "limited" connection. Textting on the phone does not have this effect. As soon as I'm done with the phone call, internet is OK. I used to have a Note 2, did not have this problem. Any idea what's going on?
Thanks!

Yes.. Some of verizon's phone are not capable of voice and data at the same time. From what I've read the CDMA carriers have that problem(Sprint also) until they enable voice and data simultaneously on their networks. Most newer Sprint phones(I'm on sprint) after the Note 3 and Galaxy 3 don't allow That. Newer phones have one chip that controls both as apposed to older phones that have a separate chip for both.

My guess is that this issue is caused by the radio set and possibly the software that controls it. Moto isn't known for their radios and chances are it is struggling to handle the load of both running at the same time. With your Sammy it wasn't an issue, because they usually have a slightly stronger radio set, and perhaps slightly more efficient software running it.

I have always thought of Moto as having superior radios. Exorcism when compared to Samsung. His issue is all software and not hardware related at all.

Most newer Verizon phones need a VoLTE update to do voice and data.

The issue lies with Verizon, but may be alleviated by either software or network upgrades in your area down the line (VoLTE required). I have no issues providing hotspot service while on the phone with a T-Mobile SIM.
