How can I use a hotspot?

I'm not talking about foxfi. Is there an option through Verizon to pay extra a month to use my unlimited data as a hotspot?

no hotspot option through verizon. otherwise your plan will change and you lose unlimited.
why dont you use foxfi? i have unlimited data and foxfi works great as a hotspot.

There should be a Data Hotspot option in the Features section for your line.

really? i actually have an unlimited line that i dedicate for a hotspot. was using a jetpack, but now use a samsung j3 phone and foxfi works great. i get better wifi than using the jetpack.

That's why I made it clear I was looking for a way to do this even if I have to pay.

As Ry stated above you add the $30 a month thing to your phone plan. You can then use your hotspot as "unlimited". Just be careful not to use too much since Verizon is kind of changing their tune on unlimited and if they see you abusing it (so far most have reported over 100 GB of data) they will take it away / force you to another plan.

Sorry but, that's simply not true. First of all, if you're PAYING for unlimited data and mobile Hotspot, you're not abusing anything. You're getting exactly what you're paying for. I use mine like a beast sometimes (many gigs per day) and have never had any issues with Verizon after years of use. Nor should I. My unlimited data plan has been grandfathered for many years now. So my activity is far from typical capped plans most people use.

Contrary to what's been said, you can purchase mobile Hotspot as a feature on Verizon. I pay an extra $30 per month for it to use with my unlimited/grandfathered data plan. Once added, just expand your notifications and turn it on with one push on the small icon. It will assign you (tell you) a proprietary sign on password. Then enter that on another device WIFI and you should be good to go.

I get what you're saying but it doesn't work that way (with Verizon at least). If you are using too much they WILL boot you. I promise you this -- it isn't a new thing they're doing.

Maybe in your neck of the woods, but not mine. I've been a MEGA data hog on Verizon for YEARS and have never had a single issue with Verizon. Not even a throttle.

Legally, they can't boot you anyway. Unlimited data is just that: unlimited. You can't boot someone for using 100gb or 200gb or whatever, it's unlimited. The only way they can do that, is if you break some other sort of plan rule, do something illegal or fraudulent with your connection, or don't pay for your service.

We have covered this in the Verizon area of the forums a bunch. Unless in contact they don't owe you anything and can boot you any time they want. Also what is your "Mega" usage? We have users who have users who have used 5 TB on Verizon. I used 1 TB on T-Mobile a few years ago to test the limits. I wouldn't do it now since I know they'd get onto me about it.

Ok I'm not worried about being booted. I have used foxfi for years and the highest I have ever gotten was around 80gb.

This is straight from last month's Verizon bill.
172GB last month. (Well over your 100gb plateau.) Which is very typical monthly usage for me. Still no boot. I'll crack 100gb this month too. No sweat.

We can agree to disagree but it's been proven they can and are doing it. Hence people being forced off the network.
