How long do you think the original Nexus 7s will keep getting updates? Will we get Key Lime Pie?

Nexus devices typically last two years before they stop receiving updates. We will most certainly get the next version of android, and the one after that.

Awesome... Thanks. Two years is about how long I planned to keep this tablet before buying something new.

Key Lime Pie is just a name we've all accepted, it's not like it has ever been confirmed by Google as the name of the next major version of Android. As noted, Nexus devices should receive all updates for 2 years officially, from which point on you can expect the development community to keep supporting them with ROMs and stuff for a good while longer. For example the Nexus S has working, stable 4.2 builds thanks to the dev community, as well as more customizable ROMs like CM10.
