How are Chromecasts for tablet to TV gaming?

I have a bunch of classic FF games and the like on my Android/Amazon account, and I'd rather play them on my tv. So I figure I gotta get a Chromecast and a bluetooth controller. How well does a Chromecast handle mirroring the video of gameplay from your tablet? It's the Note 10.1, or is there a cable I can run from it to my TV?
