I love this phone. So much so that I want to do in appropriate things to it that are illegal in most countries.

Almost all positive reviews. Anybody have phone envy of another device? If so, which one and why?

I have to admit I do envy the Edge. Also, there are features and things that I LOVE about my Wife's Moto X 2014 edition. But overall, i'd take the Note 4 every single day of the week over the X as great as it is. Mostly because of the S pen.

I've only had my Note 4 for a couple days, coming from the Note 2 and although I love the phone, I am experiencing things I never did on my N2, and a few things I liked better on the N2.

1. My Phone gets Very Hot, even doing the most basic things, like sending a text, reading email etc.
2. I have experienced Freezing when in several different applications.... 1) taking a video, 2) last night tried to download an app and it just seemed to get stuck in the 'installing mode' so I backed out to home screen and it continued to be installing for a very long time, so I attempted to power off my phone and it wouldn't let me..... the back and recent app buttons stayed lit and had to pull the battery!

That sounds like an RMA to me.

gotta admit I was a bit overwhelmed at first considering I came from the apple line (5s). that same day my girlfriend decided to also upgrade and go for the 6. I was going through kind of a withdrawal phase, missing iMessage, how organized music was kept on my iphone, and how easy ios was to use. I decided to just suck it up, and give android a try, and I'm really glad I did. I had to download the go keyboard app cause the default keyboard kept frustrating me(always switching to symbol mode every time I typed), the customization is awesome, and I find myself using my s-pen all the time! I also just love rubbing the cool things the note 4 can do that an iphone can't to my girlfriend's face to make her jealous :p. The only thing I don't like is when I have it connected to my car via bluetooth, am listening to music and get notification, the music pauses it plays the sound and two seconds later continues playing the song. I'm using google play now, and find it less of an issue. overall Love this phone!

I love my phone! My first smartphone was the original HTC Evo, which had tons of battery issues (not to mention the quirks present during Android’s “infancy.”) I moved up to an iPhone 5 which worked great but never really ‘excited’ me. Plus I never really got used to the smaller screen size. Now that I’m back to Android I’m remembering what I loved about it, and glad that it’s all but caught up to iOS. It’s only been a few weeks so I’m not sure if this is just ‘new phone glow,’ but I don’t recall being this excited over my iPhone.

The combination of customization and S Pen has got me wanting to play with my phone all the time. After reveling in the smoothness of iOS I noticed that there wasn’t really anything else to gush over, and I found myself using the iOS-exclusive apps way less than I expected. Since there wasn’t much innovation being done with the 5S or even the iPhone 6 I decided to give the Note a try. Granted there technically hasn’t been much innovation from the Note 3 till now either, but that didn’t bother me being a new Note user. As an artist, the S Pen + Note 4 are invaluable to me as a sketching tool.

Basically the iPhone is a great smartphone, but the Note is a great tool. Now that Android is right up there in smoothness (esp with the Nova Launcher I’m using) the only thing the iPhone has over the Note is picture quality, which is almost negligible enough to be only a matter of preference. The bigger/better screen, S Pen, customization, and ability to expand storage and swap batteries have me very happy and leave me no regrets for abandoning iOS.

I’ve found that my Note gets very hot too, but it’s usually only after some painting or sketching for extended periods of time, so I just assume that’s natural given the processor-intensive tasks I’m doing (hope it's not an RMA!)

Of course I’d be happier with better battery life, but the combination of Ultra/Regular Power saving settings and fast-charging is more than enough to make up for it. My battery life isn’t that bad anyways, plus there’s always an option to carry a spare. The only other gripes I probably have are app/widget related, so they’re not really specific to the Note anyways.

As long as my Note stays this smooth/fast I’ll stay very happy, and I may just be a Note user for the foreseeable future as well. Very glad I chose this over the Nexus 6!

I love it. I have gotten to the point where I completely depend on my Note 4. I really enjoy everything about this device and love learning all of the features.

You're describing issues that lead me to think you might have gotten a bad phone. You shouldn't be experiencing a hot phone for normal tasks like that.

Thank you. It actually seems like it settled in and calmed down. That freezing issue happened once but hasn't happened again. I still think the phone tends to get warmer than my Note 2 did, but that has calmed a bit. So I am going to see what happens over the next week. I also still don't think the battery is as fabulous as should be but that has gotten better too after the 'new' first few cycles now.
