how big a deal is over-sharpening?

How has your experience with the ROM been ?

It is excellent. I highly recommend this if you have the Verizon variant.

I've been waiting until I have more time to backup and start flashing others roms to see how they are. It has gotten very good feedback from the XDA community. I am interested in trying the official SkyDragon ROM as well as LiquidSmooth.

Thanks for the answers guys i see that neither of you have the d855 which is the one that i have so i can't try out those ROM's as i understand they are only available for specific models. Anyway going to wait a bit more and then flash.

There are literally tons of ROMs to choose from if you have that model. Please check out the XDA forum and read the reviews.

All popular variants can use the above-mentioned kernel with the sharpening fix.

Just went to the page linked.tried different brightness and zoomed in big time. Zero sharpening effect. None what so ever. Rooted from day 1 stock Rom with no updates. Still on 10a. All Google and bloatware removed animation set to .5

This is a good example of why I don't go around reading every excruciating little analysis of a device. I never would have noticed this had someone not pointed it out. Every phone has some supposed quirk like this and if you obsess over them you'll never be happy because there will always be something about every particular handset that will drive you mad.

What model do you have? It's curious that some models seem to already have the setting adjusted correctly, like yours.

This means it might be a carrier firmware issue and not something directly from LG.

Now that you have noticed, do you prefer the adjusted value over stock?
