How big will the next nexus be?

Using the Currents app, tapping the button in the upper left hand corner to get back to your list is tough one-handed.

I don't want the next one to be any bigger. Of course, I'll still buy it, lol

Absolutely! I don't want the phones to get any bigger. 4.7 is as much as my hands can take.

Funny about 10 years ago phone manufacturers where trying to get them as small as possible.

I can easily see Google and their next Nexus partner opting for a 5 inch screen. As said earlier, it's just the way the industry is going now.

I don't expect it to be any bigger. Depending on design the sweet spot for any device seems to be between 4-5 inches. Larger devices, i.e. the Note II, are a different breed of device for a different type of customer base.

-- Galaxy S3- 4.8" device, 30+ (50?) million sold
-- Note II, 5.5" device, 5-10 million sold

Wouldn't expect the next Nexus under 4.6" and not over 4.8"

There was an article on the Verge website that talked about Android needing a powerful device in a smaller form factor like the iPhone. I agree with this. I also think there needs to be a higher end Android device with a slide out keyboard.

Eww slide out keyboard? I think the touch keyboards are quite good these days. Even blackberry decided to release their touch screen device first. Key boards are done.
I would like smaller nexus though. But bigger than the iPhone 5. I'd like a 4.3 inch.

It can't get any bigger. Our hands are only so big on average. I've never seen a person able to use a note 2 one handed. This is pretty much the max size that you can still use one hand for most adults. Though I guess they could make it taller but that would screw up the aspect ratio.

I've actually seen a big basketball player who did use the note 2 with one hand, thought it was the S3 first :D.

But that was the beauty of Android. You had choices. It seems now that you have less choices. All of the devices are really starting to look the same with similar experiences. How many devices this year will have a Qualcomm processor, 5 inch screen, 8 mp camera on the back, 2 mp on the front, with NFC? Probably most of them. Where is the differentiation in hardware? There used to be a lot more diversity in hardware. Now I know that that type of diversity leads to fragmentation, but consumers did have more choices. And believe it or not, but I'm sure there is a market for physical keyboards.

Just give me a curved screen and I'm good. I'll adjust to any screen size, i just love the smooth curves of the NS4G and the Gnex. Please, don't make it square and boxy is all I ask.

What?! ...I'm msndrstood.

Indeed, there are exceptions to every rule. But how many basketball players are there compare to regular folks? Companies make money selling to the average person, not the exceptions.
