How can i change my default download location?

Hey I am on a Samsung galaxy tab 4 version 4.4 and I am trying to change my default download location to my microsd card, I looked at tutorials but I couldn't find the option to switch, when I try to use file managers from play store there is a popup saying "other apps can not modify the MicroSD card on 4.4", and I tryed to look for the settings but couldn't find anything useful. Any help?

There were a lot of changes made to SD Card permissions in Kit Kat which can only be bypassed with root access. Without that you won't be able to change the default storage
