How can I change the EMUI default launcher?

I have a HTC One M8 and I had Blink Feed as the default launcher I switched to Nova Launcher as my default launcher. My question is if I purchase a phone that has EMUI as the default launcher (the Honor 5X), can I switch the feel/launcher like I can on the HTC One M8?

You can install any 3rd party launcher on the Honor 5X.

Ok, thanks. Will I have all of the aforementioned EMUI quirks/issues? Or does that all go away when you install a third party launcher?

Launchers just change the homescreen interface (including the App Drawer), but they don't change the notification panel or System Settings menu. They won't change anything about how the system works (e.g., Huawei's rather aggressive RAM management). What sorts of quirks are you concerned about?

I was reading that EMUI has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to the power management and other small annoyances. I have had only one Android phone and that is all I know. I am in the market for a new phone and the Honor 5X fits my budget. All of the reviews say that the EMUI is the biggest complaint that I can see for the phone. I was hoping that installing Nova Launcher, (or any other launcher) would help alleviate some of the EMUI issues/quirks.

EMUI and the various RAM/battery management options that Huawei includes on its phones aren't as bad as I thought they'd be--see my thoughts here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/honor-5x/639478-my-thoughts-honor-5x.html. A launcher will only change the homescreen interface, and won't touch the system functions like power saving mode and RAM management.
