How can I clean up storage on my phone?

My Nexus 6 32GB phone has 10.7 GB used of 26 GB. I think that I've been able to get that down to 5 or 6 GB used in the recent past. I just forgot how.

I was able to nuke a bunch of files that were made for an attempted backup, that I didn't need, removing over 12 GB.

I used ES File Explorer and CCleaner to get rid of some stuff.

There are no photos, videos, or music stored locally.

How else can I cut back on stored unneeded files?

I just got Android N Beta.

Storage, not memory.

It's not a Nexus 6 question. It's an Android question.

In Storage you can clear Cached data, if you haven't already.
