How can I close programs/apps that i am not currently using? i have a samsung galaxy s6 edge

I am trying to save on battery life and figure that if i can close some of the running programs that will help

Welcome to Android Central! That won't help. Apps open in RAM aren't necessarily "running" unless they're in the foreground, or unless they have a background service running (like music playing in the background). Closing an app out of RAM means the system will try to reopen it or open something else, because Android prefers RAM to be mostly full. If you habitually force close apps (like with an automated task killer app), you set up a cycle of close-open-close-open that takes energy, and contributes to battery drain.
