How can I confirm whether screen is AMOLED or SLCD?

the markings ARE different for each version. to say our answers have no value is ludicrous.

I agree but I don't think that the screen determine the new version

I didn't come here to cause any problems I am just trying to help you guys if or where I can

I don't want to add fuel to the fire, but I got my incredible about two weeks ago so by all accounts it should be SLCD (based on timing from what I've read). I think it is, but when I look at the code it ends in VW. I do have a 2mg card as well. I'm so confused.

Listen,

At work for some reason, the pictures that were posted of the two boxes did not come up. They are blocked by our network for some reason.

HOWEVER, after seeing the picture, I will take back the "your answer has no value comment".

I still stand by remarks about the condesending attitudes though. The fact remains that the OP does NOT have the original box, and neither do I. I have confirmed through the observation of two phones 1 known to be AMOLED, and the the other known to be SLCD, and on the phone themselves, there is NO DIFFERENCE in markings. So as the OP has asked, How do you tell the difference WITHOUT STILL HAVING THE BOX!!!

Thank you for the answer about the black screen. THAT seems to be the only way to truly tell......if you don't have the box.

Much easier method, no use in making someone find their box, or check their serial number on their phone.

Turn the phone off. Walk into a pitch black room.

Turn the phone on... if you see 'light' coming from a black screen as the device turns on, you have SLCD. If you don't see any light from the screen until you get images, you have OLED.

OLED's don't illuminate when showing off black.

Simple test.

This does not concur with model number matching. My ADR6300VW does have a very slight lighting during power up, which indicates SLCD, but the model nubmer does not have a 3 on the end, which indicates AMOLED.

Break the screen, if the gray LCD matter leaks out, it's an LCD. If the screen keeps working, even after shattering it, it's AMOLED.
