Aloha,

I am currently trying to set up my Nexus 9 so I can copy files from a Samsung 64g Evo micro sdxc card (that I use for my camera, files are in RAW) onto the Nexus and then onto a Seagate Expansion portable HDD. I'm doing this because I'll be out of the country for a while backpacking and won't have my computer.

I have already rooted the Nexus and installed ES File Explorer. I'm using an Inateck USB hub with a micro sd card reader to actually connect the sd card and the hdd to the Nexus.

I seem to have done everything right from what I've researched but the device isn't picking up the sd card. It will recognize the HDD but not the sd card. I even reformatted the sd card to NFTS.

Any piece of advice that someone may have?

Can you try another SD card? I assume you are connecting each via the hub, and since the hdd connects, the hub appears to be working. I also assume you want this setup for future use, not simply to transfer from the card once. Sometimes, a third party program can format more effectively than a PC os. I use this free program http://m.download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Partition-Master-Free-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html. FAT32 should work.
