How can I delete all personnal data from S4 with dead screen?

The screen on my S4 is dead. the insurance co. replaced the phone but I have to send my old one to them. I tried a "factory reset" but without the screen it is impossible to tell if it was successful. I don't want to send them my phone without knowing that all data has been deleted. Can anyone help?

Boot into download mode. Reflash the ROM - all your data disappears.
