How can I delete multiple emails in one go?

Just upgraded from Galaxy S4 to 6 Edge and set up my email, but there is no option to delete all, have | missed something? It's a right pain have to select each one individually and then when I get to empty the deleted items a real nightmare!! Any help welcome in '***** language' please!

Not connected but I've got a notification showing on my Facebook icon but no notification or I've already read it. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but still there.

Welcome to Android Central! On the Gmail app, if you long-press an email, the multi-select mode is activated, after which you can tap multiple emails (on the contact profile picture/avatar associated with the email), then choose a function for all of the selected emails. See if that works on the stock Email app.

For the Facebook issue, are you saying that you're not connected to the web when you see the persistent badge on the Facebook icon? Does it go away after you connect to the web?
