How can I disable full screen in apps that are "optimized to run in full screen" in Samsung S9+

some games I'm playing are not actually optimized for full screen but i guess they are configured so. As a result I cannot turn off full screen in setting, is there any way to solve this?

Have you enabled and tried initiating split screen while this happens?
Hold down the recent app button (bottom left) to initialize, follow the prompts, then resize each as you wish. Good luck
