How can I Factory Reset my Moto X?

Factory Reset

Hi Folks, I am planning to Factory Reset my Moto X(2014) soon. Could you please give me a list of steps I should do to backup my data beforehand and then restore it?

I am mainly worried about my text messages and apps since photos and other things are in the cloud. I had selected the Backup and Automatic Restore in the Settings on my phone so that's good but I heard from a few people that it doesn't do the job for everything. So what should I do for getting back my texts, apps and other data.

There are a couple apps that can back up those things. Check out Play for those. You want to look at each one carefully, I think Moto has issues with back up apps. Something else to look at is I think Moto might have a backup app themselves? (Might be wrong here.)

Otherwise, if you plug your PC to your phone, you can drag and drop a lot of stuff like pictures, and videos.
