Hi everyone, is there any way to successfully side load the apk file for the Facebook Lite app onto the nexus 6p? I understand that it's really meant for cheaper or less powerful android phones, but still. Thanks.

Thanks. Oh yeah, it always is. Lol would you happen to know where on XDA though?lol

So an update , none of the apk files work unfortunately.

I posted a link, but you better grab it quick I may have to remove it, I'm checking with the AC Mod staff as we type. :)

EDIT: Ok I heard back, the link is ok. :)

Thanks. I'll have to give it a shot now.

Well, I tried it but still to no avail unfortunately. It won't log me in unfortunately.

AH the APK was deleted, that happens, it got reported to the mirror as a copyrighted file most likely. ;)

We probably can't help you further, BUT keep trying google and keep trying the apk links that come up in your search. <wink> <wink>

yeah i kept on trying and to my surprise, i found a link that worked! i've got it back again. i LOVE that it's not intensive on phone resources regardless of how much octacore processing we have or how much RAM we have. lol

It did however I did notice that the Facebook lite app for some reason doesn't keep the actual news feed updated correctly. For example, if you log into Facebook from chrome, the new feed is completely different.

The latest update still doesn't allow downloading of photos. I seem to always go back to the web browser.

FB is where I get most of my memes.

I would use Facebook from the web however there's absolutely no messenger from the web and that's still something that i need every now and then.

There is, but you have to fool it a bit.

Log into the Facebook Mobile web site, click on the chat button, and you'll get that aggravating "you need to install our privacy and battery-destroying Messenger Crapplication!"

However, log into Facebook Mobile web site, pull down the 3-dot menu in Chrome, check "Request Desktop Site", wait for it to reload, and you get a page that looks exactly the same as before - except the chat button works like it used to.

It's a pain to have to request the desktop site every time, and I haven't found a way to make that "sticky" - but it's sure better than installing ANYTHING from Facebook on your phone.
