How can i fix a damaged SD card on a Galaxy S6?

I was in the process of using my phone when all of a sudden it froze, when it has done this before i have restarted it and everything was fine, however this time when it turned itself off to restart it didnt come back on. So i tried to reboot it almost a hundred times, after about 8 hrs it came on and i saw the damaged SD card notification, almost all of the photos and videos i had kept are gone, i had only backed up a minorty of videos and the only option it says is to reformat, but if i do this i will lose all of my files. Also a SD card in a S6 is unremovable so i dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP!

The S6 has no SD card. There is an internal director called 'sdcard' but that is just a partition on the internal storage system.

If you are getting an error about the SD card being corrupt, then your internal storage is failing.... I am not sure what formatting would do, to be honest, but the fact that you are getting the error would lead to me be concerned about your hardware. I would bring it back to your carrier or retailer for help (it should be under warranty).

As for the files that were lost, I'm afraid they are gone for good in all likelihood. When the dust settles, I would highly suggest you utilize a service like Google Photos to back up your pictures and video.. the service is free, offers unlimited storage, and pretty much seamless to use.

Did you take the time to read the previous response? There is no SD card on the S6!
