Inverted / Pink flickering screen Samsung Tab 3 GT-P5210

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P5210. On Tuesday my tablet was working fine, I went to use it Wednesday evening and the screen had turned the colours almost inverted/negative. The majority of the screen is pink usually, sometimes the colours are showing as normal but the screen flickers continuously with either. It appears as the colour when pink is darker above the touch screen button to the left of the main button ('list' button?) and in the bottom right corner. As far as I'm aware during that time the tablet has not been dropped, it may have been left where the sun was shining through a window all day, however it does have a case that covers the front and back of the tablet. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated - I can't seem to find any help on the internet! Thank you in advance.

Have also just found out - it seems to be much much better with the tablet rotated to vertical.

Welcome to Android Central! Better, or completely normal in portrait?

My guess is the screen or some connection for it is faulty. Perhaps it's just a loose connection--some might try opening the tablet up and checking connections. Otherwise, bring it to a repair shop.

With a loose LCD cable, the display will normally look like this, most people will think the LCD is bad with pinky colors and black spots:

Discoloration or more pink than others is loose LCD cable. Open your tablet, disconnect, reconnect the LCD cable ( right side ) and secure the locking tab with tape will prevent it happen again. Make sure the white line on cable aligned with the one on main board. Don't put back the rear cover, test it by plug in your USB cable to charge, press the HOME button, the green battery icon should see on the screen in the black background. If you see the pinky icon, your LCD cable is not connected properly.

Watch this video how to open the rear case and how to disconnect cable, this case you only need the LCD cable.

This tool will open faster, just pressing around the frame to open it. The above tutorial video just shows how to open, but it's a slow way.
I just need under 2 minutes to open the case of this tablet.

I have same issue. I followed steps from b.Diddy and now my tablet does not even turn on. What should I do

I actually got it to turn on now by putting the cover back. Without the cover on it doesn't turn on. The screen was normal for a few seconds then became discolored again. What are my options now ?

The cover has nothing to do with on or off, I have a tablet without cover used for testing, it runs fine. Check your connection without cover, secure them with tape, it should work fine, otherwise you have bad LCD cable or LCD.
If you HDMI adapter, connect your tablet to a TV, it will tell the problem from LCD or mainboard

Thank you for step by step guide. In my case the lcd cable was a little loose and the connectors was visible, i pulled the cable out and put it back till the connectors not visible. It works perfect now. You save my tablet. Thank you again.

Thanks this was much easier that I thought. Couple of points:
1. An old credit card or flier mileage card can work the case opening, however you will ruin the card
2. There is a latch for the cable. right above where the cable enters the connector there is a thin black bar, gently lift it up towards the battery. then after reinserting the cable push it back down to lock the cable in place.
