How can i get my account back please

[Android Central Question]

I tried sending a message to a new person on facebook's messenger (without a facebook account, only a messenger one with my phone number), and I get back the message "Send failed Your account's phone number has been confirmed by another Messenger account. You cannot initiate threads with people that do not have you as a contact."

First it is not possible to use Messenger without a Facebook account. You can have Facebook without Messenger but you cannot have Messenger without Facebook. If you have or had Facebook and then canceled/deleted you account it warns you that you will not be able to use Messenger and asks if you would rather suspend your FB account so that you can continue to use Messenger. It goes on to say that by deleting your account all of your Messenger contacts will be deleted as well.

This may be standard error message it generates when unsubscribed users attempt to use Messenger without a FB account. Like when you try to sign-in to an account and you enter the wrong user name or password and an error message saying the server is down pops up. The server isn't down you just entered the wrong information and denying you access without saying "we're denying you access".

Since I don't know the ins and outs or your situation any response would only be a guess but you can create a dormant account with FB to gain access to Messenger. You really only need a verifiable email, date of birth that makes you old enough to use FB and phone number. Their spyware will do the rest. Also just because you've connected on Messenger doesn't mean you have to be friends on FB. As long as you have a FB account the two can remain separate. Seems silly but that's FB, a bunch of silliness and drama. Kidding but not joking.

Welcome to Android Central! Log into your Facebook account on your computer browser, then click on the down arrow next to your profile picture and select Settings & Privacy, then Settings. Now select Mobile. Do you see your phone number there?
