how can i get my phone working again?

i had an issue with my LG g2 when i dropped it with headphones plugged in and the headphone jack stopped working entirely. i ordered a replacement for the headphone jack/docking port assembly. i received it today and began work on replacing it. i tried to turn my phone on and it turned on but the screen stayed black. i fiddled with it for a while longer and now the phone doesn't turn on at all. any ideas on what the problem might be?
