Re: How can I get past the screen asking for a samsung account?

Also another thought.. Best Buy has a Samsung Experience Counter, staffed by Samsung employees. You could go by there and see if they can help you. Be prepared to show an ID if necessary to help prove ownership.

Yeah, I will probably do this. Thanks for the help!

After extensive online research via Youtube videos, I finally came up with a solution!! I'm not sure if this works on devices other than Samsung Galaxy s5's, but it worked for me: After I clicked in the box asking for my ID, I went to Swype settings after holding down the keyboard key that says "ABC" (the one you use when switching between keyboards, tapping the second option of the four arrows, then holding down the Swype option in the bottom left corner, pressing help (2nd to last option), then "How to Swype". It brought me to another pop-up screen, where I scrolled to the bottom and clicked the first link under "More Help". I was able to open the link using the Internet app, where I pressed the button in the top right with the 3 dots (it closed on me the first time, so I pressed it again and it worked), scrolled to the bottom and pressed settings, tapped the account option at the top, and created a new Samsung account from there. After that, I pressed the back button until I was at the Samsung Reactivation Lock screen, then signed in with my new account an was able to unlock the phone.

This actually makes me upset. I want my reactivation lock to keep my phone locked until I unlock it with my Samsung account credentials! Now people can steal Samsung phones and unlock them. That is not a good thing in my opinion.

This issue is a Samsung one. It is not a Google account one. The issue comes about if you have not registered the phone with Samsung, and at some point you factory reset the phone through the recovery screen. I just did this, and I am stuck too. My newer phone was never registered with Samsung, so they won't allow the phone to be setup now. So, I suppose I could try to install a non-factory image on my phone, but since it is a work phone, and if I make a big mistake, I could be screwing myself there.

I am taking the "contact Samsung" approach. My thought is, if I provide them my phones IMEI, they can register it on their server manually, and then I can finally get started with my phone again.:p

Think it will work for alpha?

Re: How can I get past the screen asking for a samsung account?

I forgot my password on my phone yesterday, so today, after reading many articles and trying to find out how to get around it, I decided to reset my Samsung s5 to factory settings. In the middle of the setting up process, I was redirected to a separate page asking me to log in to the previous account I had before I abnormally reset the phone. Since I never made one, I am now stuck on that screen. Is there a way for me to bypass it or reset my phone so that I do not have to go through the Samsung account log in?

I have a new method

So I can't get into my phone, I restarted it because my finger print it didn't work and I forgot my password .. Now it's asking me for my Google account I added my email and password and I know that is the correct password and email but it doesn't work ... Please help me..

What if you try downloading the firmware, putting phone into download mode and reloading the firmware image with Odin?

Re: galaxy s5

My brother gave s5 last week, it works well when he gave me but after a week later it lost the network. When google it is Sprint phone, where i am Ethiopia. If the problem can be solved i try to factory reset but it create another problem, due to abnormal factory reset you need to enter Samsung id and password. When i asked my brother he haven't any account. How can I get past the screen asking for a Samsung account?

The U.S. carrier minority variant of Galaxy S5 for Sprint, model G900P, is a CDMA phone and therefore only compatible with Ethiopia's, Ethiotelecom network on 2G and 3G but not 4G/LTE. How did your brother come by the phone?

Enter your phone's IMEI number into Checkmend to see if the phone is lost, stolen or blacklisted by a carrier.
