How can I improve the battery life for my HTC One M8?

How about you install Gsam as has been suggested. Charge your phone full and use it all day until you get down to 10% or so percent. Then come back on here and say what your screen time is. You should be getting 5-7 hours depending on usage. If you are getting 3-4 hours then that's not good. No point coming on here speculating about going from 70 to 61% with no context because that doesn't show anything. Gsam is very specific. Try it.

Re: Poor battery life

Sounds like an HTC phone. Anyway, here is what I did:

Download wakelock detector and GSAM. Wakelocks will kill your battery when idle and poor android apps will kill it when in use and when you think you have closed the app it will continue running. You can also stop auto refresh of Blinkfeed if I remember correctly and turn your screen brightness down and put it to auto. The main thing however are the wakelocks and the apps you use. The screen will always take a lot of juice unfortunately even if it is gorgeous. Good luck.

Re: Poor battery life

My battery was pretty good today. 7.5% per hour when active. It lasted for a total of 12 hours and 7 hours active. This was a total of 92% as I didn't totally drain the battery.

I'll see how it goes over the next few days.

Re: Poor battery life

I have an M8. It took a full week for the battery to settle in.

Sent from an AOSP M8

I only get 3 hours tops of screen on time. Seems too little, from what I've been reading. I have wifi, mobile data and GPS always on and mostly use 4g since I don't have wifi at work. Is this normal?
