how can i keep my micro sd card unmounted?

galaxy s4 couple years old...started getting annoying "sd card not detected-must restart" error. unmounted sd card but it re-mounted somehow & got the error again. If i keep it unmounted will that prevent the error until i get around to fixing it?

Welcome to the forums. If it's unmounted you can't use it, why not just remove it? The card may be corrupt also.
